From OGG to AVI with subtitle
Hi all. I have some file .ogg with video, double audio and subtitle. I need to convert them into .AVI file (divx) with subtitle "on screen".
I have tried
Code:
$ mencoder file.ogg -aoc copy -voc copy -aid 1 -sid 1 -o file.avi
but it does not work.
Where is my error ??
Tnx.

OK, well firstly if you read the manpeg you'd see it was -oac and -ovc, btu you've also clearly got their usage very wrong... you're saying use the copy method. i.e. copy it. exactly as it is. this will not reencode it, it will just copy it. you should really read the documentation at mplayerhq.hu to get advice on reencoding files.

original bitrate of an ogg, i've no real knowledge of oggs but if you use mplayre with the -identify option playing that file you'll get a little dump of info about it, including bitrates and codec types.
What do you actually want to achieve? it's presumably possible to take the ogg video and audio streams and place them inside an avi container, but an avi is just a container, not a codec or such. most people who say that they want an avi actually mean they want a divx video stream and an mp3 audio stream, wrapped in an avi container. is that what you actually want to do?
