Question from mdk 10.1 to mandriva 2007

hello,
i'm using mdk 10.1 and i would like to install mandriva 2007 or 8.
without loosing my /home.
what is the best way?
- install mandriva 2007 or 8 ?
- install mandriva 2006, then 2007 then 2008?
- upgrade to 2006, then to 2007 then to 2008?

If /home is on a separate partition, then you can just do a clean install of Mandriva 2008. Make sure that you do not format /home during install time. If /home is not on a separate partition, then you need to backup all your important data because it will be destroyed if you do a clean install of 2008. You could try an upgrade from 10.1 to 2008, but I am not sure if it will go well. There is not need to install previous versions of Mandriva like you suggested above.
