i install Fedora Core 1 on VMware 4.0.0, and configure binutil-2.15 then freeze "creating MakeFile"

When Freezed, CPU used 100 percents on Guest and Host OS. i think this problem is maybe known, but i cannot find related information for this problem in google. does anyone have information??
Host OS: Win2k Pro
Guest OS: Fedora Core 1
