Freevo Issue


Hi folks,

I having bother getting my dvb-t usb device working. Its a 'freecom dvb-t usb stick'. It doesnt seem to be starting correctly

When I plug it in I get the following message after 'dmesg'

dvb-usb: found a 'WideView WT-220U PenType Receiver (Typhoon/Freecom)' in cold state, will try to load a firmware
dvb-usb: did not find the firmware file. (dvb-usb-wt220u-01.fw) Please see linux/Documentation/dvb/ for more details on firmware-problems.
dvb-usb: WideView WT-220U PenType Receiver (Typhoon/Freecom) error while loading driver (-2)


I begging for help!

it says it's looking for a firmware file. have you isntalled the firmware it's asking for?

Yeah thats what it was but I had installed the firmware file but for some reason it couldnt find it. I manually placed it in the /lib/firmware and got the card up and running. Still working on some dependencies for freevo but I think I past the worst.

Once I have this up and running I going to write a 'howto' for installing dvb using freevo. Is there somewhere specific I can put it?

It would have been real useful for me to have a week ago
