what file extension to download to install software in freespire
i mean rpm's or .deb waht ??

Freespire is based on Debian so I would guess it should support the DEB format. Do now download single packages, though. Use some package manager like APT or Smart for that. There is also some Freespire (and Linspire) specific manager, AFAIR, but I don't know for sure since I've never used it.

Yes, just click n run, it's all free now (except the proprietary programs).
