It seems freecad is working more or less, but rather less than more :-)).

FreeCad , Slackware 13 - 64

No problems. I used these "Slackware 13.1" packages :

SoQt-1.5.0-x86_64-2_SBo, Coin-3.1.3-x86_64-2_SBo
apache-ant-1.8.1-noarch-1_SBo, xerces-c-2.8.0-x86-64-3_SBo,
jdk-6u16-x86_64-1 (default Slack 13), OpenCASCADE-6.3.0-x86_64-1_SBo,
FreeCAD-0.9.2646-x86_64-1_SBo.tgz : Freecad will open the GUI OK.

The terminal text : asks for PyQt + Pivy, for 2D / Draft.
Installed were then PyQt-x11-gpl-4.7.4 (+ sip-4.10.5 as dependency.)
Python-Pivy: The only version that works is pivy_0.5.0~svn765.orig.tar.gz
http://ftp.de.debian.org/debian/pool...65.orig.tar.gz
..

SoQt-1.5.0-x86_64-2_SBo
Coin-3.1.3-x86_64-2_SBo
apache-ant-1.7.1-noarch-2_SBo
xerces-c-2.8.0-x86_64-3_SBo
jdk-6u16-x86_64-1
OpenCASCADE-6.3.0-x86_64-1_SBo
FreeCAD-0.9.2646-x86_64-1_SBo

Upgraded to apache-ant-1.8.1 : same problem.
I'll try a full rebuild when i'll install a 13.1 or more.

Anyway, thanks for answering.

I probably expressed myself wrong with :
"I used these "Slackware 13.1" packages"

They are from 13.1 Slackbuilds, but all packages are built on Slackware 13.

'apache-ant' is not used by any application, but used only by compiling /
building a couple of the packages.

Besides the already mentioned "SBo" packages, I have three manually installed :

PyQt-x11-gpl-4.7.4.tar.gz > PyQt-x11-gpl-4.7.4
sip-4.10.5.tar.gz > sip-4.10.5
release-0-3-0-d4e261eabdc9.tar.bz2 > Pivy-release-0-3-0-d4e261eabdc9

Nothing else, it's a new "full install" ( 2010-09-14 19:38 ).
Installed, to test OpenCASCADE and FreeCAD.
.....
You can read the files attached to post # 3, if you want more info, 0.9.2646,
which is still working as expected. . . .

.....

Version 0.10.3205 : When I selected "File" > 'New', the first time, it exited with :
Unknown command 'Draft_Polyline'
FreeCAD: gl.cpp:2389: const cc_glglue* cc_glglue_instance(int):
Assertion `gi->versionstr && "could not call glGetString() -- no current GL context?"' failed.
Abnormal program termination...
..
Some other errors, 0.10.3205 : /opt/FreeCAD0103205/Mod/Part/Part.so: undefined symbol:
_ZN4Part27RectangularTrimmedSurfacePy4TypeE
( When "View" > 'Toolbox' is selected.)

And from the terminal, used to start FreeCAD :
Cannot find icon: freecad
/opt/FreeCAD0103205/Mod/Part/PartGui.so: undefined symbol: _ZTIN7PartGui21DlgSettings3DViewPartE
Cannot load Mesh module
Unknown command 'Std_TestProgress5'
/opt/FreeCAD0103205/Mod/Part/Part.so: undefined symbol: _ZN4Part27RectangularTrimmedSurfacePy4TypeE
.......

Suggest : LQ Search → freecad, ... and ask e.g. @ Alexvader :
Has worked with FreeCAD? + OpenCASCADE + Slack 13 - 64.
..
