If netgear support IPSec then you can use it, but it's going to be a bit hard to configure. Google with "KAME tools" and "IPSec HOWTO" for more info. You could also check out the relevant part of my Wlan IPSec HOWTO at

http://users.utu.fi/sjsepp/wep-ipsec/wep-ipsec.html

It is actually quite likely that the netgear does support IPSec, because there is really no alternative except Microsofts similar "IPSec" solution (in effect a bastardized and incompatible version of IPSec. The older Microsoft VPN solution (was it PTTP or something) can be cracked and is not an industry standard as IPSec is.

You could also take a look at OpenVPN and SSLExplorer. You could configure your router to forward all requests to these VPN servers to go through thus bypassing the router's own VPN functionality. But I guess that's not what you want, is it :)

hi basileus,

I dont want to install another vpn behind this netgear vpn router and overkill. Just need an opensource or free vpn client. The netgears vpn client is not free.
By the way i will try KAM's tools and for windows I have to try microsoft ipsec tools.

thanks
