free knowledge base software

Hello people,

I was just wondering if anyone knows of a good free piece of knowledge base software? What I am wanting to do is setup a knowledge base page for where I work similar to the Microsoft KB page. Here are some features I would really like:

- searchable
- indexed
- seperate admin page
- clear tidy interface

I might possibly be asking too much from free software, but if you know of some could you please link me to it. I have MySQL and PHP installed ready to go on a Linux box, so that isn't really a hassle.

Thanks!

You could use someting as simple as 'htdig' or go up to a content management package like Zope. Depends how much time you want to spend on it, who wants to use it and how many people will manage and contribut content.

edit: do a search over at sourceforge.net for 'CMS'

Time isn't really a problem, the people using it will be around 70-100 staff spread across multiple locations, and around 5-10 people will manage the content.

I checked out htdig and think that would probably do what I want to do.

Does anyone know any similar software that is perhaps a little more feature packed, or prehaps works a little better?
