FPS Drop with Dekstop Effects on FC6
 

Hey guys, a few minutes ago, there were 17 packages that needed update so I updated it.

Now I can enable dekstop effects whereas before I couldn't.

The only problem is that I get a big FPS drop. Anyway to enable the dekstop effects while maintaining the same or very close to the same FPS without getting a better graphics card?

. . . or any hardware upgrade?

This has been reported at the Nvidia Linux Forum. FPS drops up to 50% have been seen with desktop-effects enabled. There are some reports that the earlier 9625 BETA version of the driver did not have this problem.

I suggest that you add your voice to those at the Nvidia forum complaining about the issue.
