hi, im just finishing setting up a hardened gentoo server and i really want to host my own forum (i was inspired by this site and since discovering it i have grown to love forums ) does anyone know of any tutorials or links to get me started? and is it totally necessary for me to know php? i am planning on learning it, it just might take me a while!
Install something like phpbb. It requires no knowledge of PHP as just about everything you need is already there, setup, etc. It does help tremendously to know a little about it, to edit, tweak, etc, to your liking though but by actually installing it, will help you learn it faster.
