Forum for video/dvd stuff for linux?

I got a dvd/cd reader, burner.

I don't know anything about dvd/cd copying or editing.

I have had good results so far, but I am running into a wall.

I was wondering if anyone knew of a good forum where I could learn the ropes of burning/copying dvds on linux?

Right now my current problem is I want to copy a dvd that is close to 8 gigs, but I want to fit it on dvd that holds just under 5 gigs.

I figure I either have to trim the bonus features out or compress it in some way.

Beyond that I am a total clueless newbie. I am looking to get started, hopefully without the need for nightschool or install windows

DVDShrink is a great tool, but it's windows only ...

Or is it?

If you want a strictly Linux solution, I'd point to lxdvdrip
