Format and Re-Install

How do I format my Red Hat stuff and then install Mandrake. Red Hat has completely screwed up my system. I cannot load the GUI and it has pissed me off. Thanks for the help.

You can choose which partitions/filesystems you want to format during the Mandrake installation.

If you only have 1 partition, may I suggest that you split this into at least 2 (/ and /home) so that you don't lose any personal files should you need/want to reinstall again later.

Oh, and what happens when you try to load the GUI? I agree that reinstall is easier when you/it screws something up, but I must also stress the satisfaction you get when you manage to sort something out without having to reinstall.

When i try to load Xwindows, an error comes up bad dynamic linker. also, when i run Xconfigurator, it can't get the settings right or if i run xf86config.

Thanks for all the help. I just re-installed linux using mandrake instead of redhat. Its working now
