Forgot MYSQL root pass

Is there a way to reset your MYSQL root pass?

UGH... I think root should have access to mysql with/without a pass... root is root.. root should have access to all without bs...

Well... I hope someone can help ;-(

Im having the same problem... (im a newb also)

Except, i know my root password. But i can't seem to login on Mysql

Mysql came installed on my Slackware Distribution, i dont' know what the password im supposed to be using is. Any ideas?

just last week someone had put a resolution to this problem of forgotten mysql root password.

something to do with

safe_mysqld

do a search; you should find a solution!
