Fonts with GIMP
 

I am now using Mandrake 10.0 on my new machine. (Previously Mdk 9.2).
I had additional fonts installed on that machine in ~/.fonts and these could be accessed by all packages. I have installed them in ~/.fonts on the new machine and they are available to most packages (KDE, OpenOffice, etc. ) but not GIMP.

This worked before and I have been told by others that it should work. Any suggestions ?
