fonts when not running gnome

I have decided to stop running gnome and switch to fluxbox (i only have a pII 266 laptop and gnome was a bit of a hog) and i have noticed that fonts in programs (i.e firefox not web pages but the bookmarks and file and url input) are different when not running gnome. is there a way to change these fonts to the fonts that gnome was using? thanks for any help in advance
