Fonts in Slackware 9.0
Hi!
I had some problem with the display of fonts in Slack 8.1 but thanks to a friendly Linuxquestions.org user it turned out fine, now im having a similar problem? With slackware 9.0, i noticed that FreeType isnt avaiable as a package during the installation, though the dir /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/TTF still exists (have this path anything to do with Freetype anyways?). And i also noticed a new config util when running pkgtool->config (not sure it was named 'config' but im sure you know what i mean :)), where was i, oh yes the new config util, it had something to do with fonts so i figured that slackware wasnt using freetype anymore? Is there anyone who can tell me how the fontmanagement in slackware 9.0 is handled and how i can add new fonts (from my windows OS 2 slackware) And why is all the fonts displayed with a crisp edge (looks like someone poured H2SO4 all over it) I belive you´ve figured out that i am a newbie and some of the text above doesnt make any sense so please do take some time to explain or give me directions where i can get info and if you experienced something similar and solved it, please tell me how you did it. |
