Fonts are too big

I have a kubuntu box (installed "on top" of a ubuntu server installation)

I find fonts too big in general. Only some applications show fonts in a adequate fashion. Maybe I have to install some more fonts.

What do you think i should do?

Oh.... I had already done that. I set the fonts there to "acceptable" sizes.

For example, The Firefox tabs have a font that's too big. Also, amsn, all fonts there are too big. And it jumps to sight that they are NOT KDE applications. How can i control them?

You need to install the gtk-qt theme engine and then use it to configure gtk apps to use KDE fonts. You can also use it to make your gtk apps look like KDE apps.
