Font problems with KDE and bootsplash in Gentoo
I just got kde working under Gentoo 64 again, and I also installed bootsplash for the first time (which I'm quite proud of myself for, by the way), and ever since I've used it, my kde fonts are a little weird. here is a screenshot. It just pops up randomly, although it's guarenteed to be on the Network folders and trash icons from the Konqueror main menu. Sometimes it's on the menus, and when I move my mouse over it it goes away. I don't mind it that much, but a) it's a bit annoying, and b) One of my friends who is a *cough* Windose user is going to be stopping by at some point this weekend, and this could be a negative in our own private Windose/Linux debate.

Funny, using bootsplash should not interfere with font rendering in X (KDE or anywhere else). Have you tried at the Gentoo forums?

No, I haven't, but what I forgot to add is that I also had to change the console size. That shouldn't do it either. Oh well. I'll probably check the gentoo forums when I get a few minutes.
