Font missing in Konsole!!!!!

Hi. I have a font missing in the KDE Konsole of Slack 9.1 after doing a complete update with (K)swaret. I've reinstalled slack about 5 times because of this, and everytime I update, i get the error. Here it is

Font `-misc-console-medium-r-normal--16-160-72-72-c-80-iso10646-1' not found.
Check README.linux.console for help.
Any help greatly appreciated.

P.S. not a big problem, just annoying, and I dont like having to use xterm for system stuff...

What language settings do you have? iso10646-1 must be a pretty obscure character set, it's not even supported by the Linux kernel. Try setting the "Language" in KDE to US/English and the keyboard to whatever locale you use.

Workaround for konsole font problem

I've tried many different suggestions including the ones posted here, and still haven't managed to configure anything so that konsole finds the fonts.

I have found a simple workaround though: within konsole's settings menu, change the font, and save the settings.

I have had the same problem and the solution is to just change the font.
