Font Creation!!


I want to know what you people consider to be the best free (open source or what ever) ttf (true type font) creator program there is for linux and how to get it.

Heard of it, but have not used it.

Used it, very tedious but then again, so is font creation.

My mental image of making fonts is people working in dark caves on a weird work-sleep cycle---like programmers, but worse. I'm not sure I would have the patience.
But--being a font junkie--the temptation is always there.

Oh I never made a font, I just experiemented with the app when I was trying to convert a TTF font into a bitmap format and still have it look decent. I'd imagine your mental image probably wouldn't be too far off the mark, it doesn't look fun.
