following HOWTO doc with issues...

I know I've posted some easy/stupid questions on here so here's another one... Im following the HOWTO doc (winbind.html)...Im running a "standard" install of Red Hat 9, and there's a line in there about "Join the SAMBA server to the PDC domain". The command: root# /usr/local/samba/bin/smbpasswd -j DOMAIN -r PDC -U Administrator that just doesnt work... mainly because after the /usr/local I have no Samba directory. I've tried pointing it to /etc/samba/smbpasswd but it doesnt work.... Can anyone tell me what Im doing wrong???

Try "whereis smbpasswd". The smbpasswd you used is a database file it is looking for the binary.
