http://bugfactory.org/~gav/fluxbox/

here is the link to the remember patch...

Bah, guess the xinitrc.d only works with gnome and KDE installations. Since this is the case you have to use the remember patch.

How does this work if I installed fluxbox with the debian package? Do I have to uninstall fluxbox and install it using the make install?

Anyone who is running fluxbox w/ debian know what the problem is?

Hi guys,

I use debian/flux on my laptop and I was following this thread with great interest. I also do not have these .xinitwhatever files in my home directory and this special file in the .fluxbox directory is also missing. I am using the latest flux release 0.1.14-1 according to synaptic.

I followed the link to the patch.
It clearly states that this patch should NOT be used and is considered DEPRECATED. Users are suggested to use the latest version in CVS instead, which is considered not stable.

You can get tarballs for the 0.9.x series and compile your own.
For all the people who were following this thread.

Personally, I will wait until the new flux shows up in the debian repositories... I can type gkrellm & after boot...

Cheers,
Jan

The remember patch has been rewritten and absorbed into the new 0.9.x releases, and 0.9.4 is very nice. KDE slit bug still isnt squashed, but the group remember features are coming along nicely. Try it today
