fluxbox login problem

Hello.

I am all out of ideas now how to fix the following so I ask you:

I want to start fluxbox with the /etc/X11/xdm/Xsession script the way all other window environments are started because it runs all kinds of other important user resource scripts like keyboard layout, etc.

But whenever I modify this file with a fluxbox entry like this:

...

fluxbox)
exec -l $SHELL -c "fluxbox"
;;

...

it takes an eternity for Fluxbox to start. And when it starts its dimensions are all screwed up and it is slow.

I should note that I have a script in /etc/X11/gdm/Sessions/fluxbox with the following entry:

exec /etc/X11/xdm/Xsession fluxbox

Fluxbox works perfectly if the above line is changed to:

exec /usr/local/bin/fluxbox

but then no important environment scripts are run....

Please help me, I use RH 9.
