Re: Fluxbox install and download?

First of all, slackware 9.1 comes with Fluxbox on the disk. But if you want to install a newer version, then install slackware, go into KDE, and then download this file.

http://fluxbox.bottino.com/files/9.1....14-i386-1.tgz

Then, open up a terminal, go to the directory that you saved this file in, and then type:
Code:
su

upgradepkg fluxbox-0.1.14-i386-1.tgz

exit
and then exit X windows, and type this at the command line:
Code:
xwmconfig
Then just select "fluxbox" from the menu, and then type "startx";

If you want it to boot to a gui, then as root or super-user, edit /etc/inittab to start at runlevel 4 I think, you might double check me on that, inittab gives a list of the runlevels and their properties..

People make out slackware as if you have to type a 200 page essay to get it to upgrade but by the sound of it lots of things are done by simple one or two line commands.
