Fluxbox, Compton, Thunar, Transparency

Good morning all!

Not sure if this question has been asked, I did search but I did not find anything Fluxbox specific. I'm trying to create transparency in Thunar but unfortunately I've been unsuccessful. I was wondering if anyone has tried and been able to? I do find people have been successful, but I haven't seen someone using Fluxbox, creating transparency in Thunar successfully and wondering maybe this is the reason, because it's Fluxbox? Any help would be greatly appreciated, and if you could share your compton.conf that would be fantastic. Once again, thanks in advance.

I would have a look at https://www.linux.com/tutorials/flux...ency-xcompmgr/ or https://sleekmason.wordpress.com/flu...-transparency/ for information. These come up items 1 and 2 in a duckduckgo search on fluxbox and transparency. While these get you to support transparency in fluxbox itself, Thunar may take some additional research.

Thanks for the response wpeckham, but like I said in my post, I'm using compton, not xcompmgr (never used it before either). I've been able to get transparency in some apps, but my only issue is Thunar.

HAve a look anyway, as there are elements of overlap.
You might want to check [url]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3OUzJs3aCBw[url] as well, if you do not mind video format for information.

It is important that you enable transparency in FLUXBOX, because without that they later level settings in applications running on TOP of FLUXBOX may not take effect at all.
