fluxbox + aterm + rox transparency issues
Hi all,
I've been having a problem with transparent aterms in fluxbox especially when I open up a terminal from rox-filer. The way my desktop is setup I can type alt+a to open up an aterm and it opens up first as opaque white and then (sometimes but not always) after a split second transparency kicks in as it should. But when I am in a directory in rox-filer and open up an aterm in that directory using the rox 'open xtern here' menu option it never gets beyond the opaque white. I can restore transparency to that aterm by moving the aterm window a little. The same lack of transparency thing happens when I run aterm from an adesklet icon. In that case as well, a little manual moving of the terminal makes the terminal transparent. On the other hand, just to make things a little more complicated if I run aterm by tying 'aterm' in another aterm the new window does not first flash white and then turn transparent - it goes right to transparency. Does that make sense??? Here's some specs: machine: IBM thankpad R40 flux version: 0.9.12 aterm: 0.4.2 slackware 10.0 graphics card: ATI mobility radeon 7500 graphics drivers (from lsmod): radeon, drm Anyone have any suggestions?? Thanks! -geomatt |
