fluxbox bug?

hey guys whats up? i dono this is starting to piss me off.. ive tried to ignore it but now its really bothering me because ive been editing my menus alot lately..

ok heres my problem.

Iam running Ubuntu on my laptop and Debian on my home PC, doesnt really matter but everytime i have my menus edited.. like i put in some exe's i edit some names.. move them around.. if i do an apt-get install pkgname, the whole damn menu resets to default.. and i loose everything where i positioned it and the names are gone... is this a bug?

Are you updating them in ~/.fluxbox or in the system defaults?

It's not a bug - it's a feature!!

Actually I really like it, because any time you install a program on a debian system, an entry magically appears in the menu of any window manager/desktop you use. You don't have to manually update each menu.

I'm not sure how to fix your problem though - I reckon it would start by changing where fluxbox looks for its menu. Open .fluxbox/init and have a look for the menu entry. Point it to ~/.fluxbox/my-funky-menu, and put your custom menu in ~/.fluxbox/my-funky-menu and you shouldn't have to problem you're talking about.
