Floppy disk imaging

Can anyone tell me if there is an easy way of creating image files of floppy disks, and writing floppy disks from images in linux? Under Windows I used to do this with Winimage - is there a similar utility for linux? Or something I can use at the command line?

dd if=/dev/fd0 of=whatever.img

dd if=whatever.img of=/dev/fd0
