flash problems

I have installed macromedia flash player and already compiled it.
If I go on a website which you need to have flash it asks me again...
Maybe someone can help me to solve this problem? Thank you

Have you checked that the libs actually went to the correct location for your browser (what is it BTW).

Code:
>$ ls -l /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins
total 196K
lrwxrwxrwx  1 root root   44 2004-06-19 00:06 flashplayer.xpt -> /usr/lib/flashplugin-nonfree/flashplayer.xpt
lrwxrwxrwx  1 root root   46 2004-06-19 00:06 libflashplayer.so -> /usr/lib/flashplugin-nonfree/libflashplayer.so
-rw-r--r--  1 root root 195K 2004-07-19 05:53 mplayerplug-in.so
lrwxrwxrwx  1 root root   29 2004-05-31 01:07 raclass.zip -> ../../RealPlayer8/raclass.zip
lrwxrwxrwx  1 root root   25 2004-05-31 01:07 rpnp.so -> ../../RealPlayer8/rpnp.so
This is assuming you are using mozilla but you should see both of the flash files in the correct directory for your distro. If they are not there then you should copy them there from wherever they were installed and restart the browser. Oh some sites no matter where the files are located will not see them when using linux due to their stupid browser checks/non-compliant html coding. You can also always check using about:plugins in the URL bar of the browser and it should tell you what you have installed for plugins.
