flash player unavailable at Adobes (macromedias) site?
Hey all-
Recently loaded Fedora Core 5 and updated all packages. Running Firefox 1.5.0.3 - now I need to load Flash Player, but I get a SERVER NOT FOUND
http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get...7_linux.tar.gz
error at adobes site. Any one else having this problem? Or better yet, anyone have the file available somewhere for me to download ?
Thanks in advance!

Maybe it was a temporary down-for-service thing, or maybe it was the wrong link.
Try this:
http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/downl...h&promoid=BIOW
and you should be able to download Flash Player for Linux there.

Thanks Jon R, but that is the page I was on - the link I posted in my first post is where I end up when I click on the DOWNLOAD NOW button on the link you posted.
I built my PC last week end and have been checking daily for the availability of their server, but it must be down. I have emailed them twice with no response.
Anyone happen to have install_flash_player_7_linux.tar.gz laying around on their PC?

Dang! And I just got rid of what you want, about a week ago, during one of my very infrequent and even less enthusiastic housecleaning moments.
I will check to see if I have it on DVD or hard disk backup, and if so, I'll let you know here.

Some ISP's DNS servers suck and don't get changes fast enough or something. Try replacing "fpdownload.macromedia.com" with "fpdownload.macromedia.com.edgekey.net".
Also, you can get official Flash packages for Linux from here. For Fedora Core, they have a Yum repo for it that you can use to install Flash through Yum.

Well...I checked every backup I could find with no luck. I always feel I'm doing something unwise when I discard anything. Experiences like this tend to confirm that.
Hope their server is back up soon.
