flash player on linux

i'm looking for a flash player that can play .swf files downloaded from the inet. is there such a tool?
i already have the macromedia plugin for firefox..

Sure you can... Your browser does not know it's on the net or your HD. Just type the path to your file in the URL:

file://flash_directory/flash_file.swf

i see some software can do this work,but i forget the name.
it's a opensource project .
