flash for linux ??

Is their a flash development tool (GPL'ed ) for linux or windows ?? I would like to create some banners for my site.. and am thinking about using flash. I have tried to use animated gif's using GIMP, but have not been successfully... I can not find any documentation on how to do this.... ( they do have documentation.. it you want to move an Image around ) But the more I look at flash.. it looks like it would have all the feature I need...

Sorry there are none at this time. Hopefully one day Macromedia will see this and port theirs over. But you can always try to run it in a type of emulator, like wine, Win4Lin or vmWare..

Flash Editor

Although I'm yet to try them, the only Flash editors I could find were two Java-based ones:

Perhaps do it dynamically with php/swf?

Trying to get this working myself, using php to query MySQL for data used to create flash dynamically.

I was reading OSNews' review of Phoebe (RH 8.1 beta) when I noticed on their second screenshot, there was an app window of a program that looked something like FLASH!

I checked it out and it does seem to be an SWF authoring tool. CHECK IT OUT!!!

The review I read can be found here:

The screenshot can be found here:

The program's website:

The real deal? I'm really excited
