Flash 8


has anyone got flash 8 (the editor) to work on linux using cedega, wine, crossover?

I believe it's possible to get Flash 8 running in Linux but not without some work. Checkout this page and notes from Winehq.

flash 8 will work with the latest version of wine and firefox (win32). I use it all the time on some sites that wont work on native linux because they require flash 8.

That link is for Dreamweaver, and he's talking about the editor not the browser plugin/player

dreamweaver, ok got it... Well, if you spent $400 (new) on the software then you should run it on the system it was meant to run, windows. Perhaps you can try nvu as alternative.

Right you are, I was actually getting Dreamweaver confused with Macromedia Studio 8 which includes Flash etc.

Might also be worth contacting Macromedia and asking them if they are thinking of releasing a Linux version at some time. I would also be interested in Flash for Linux and maybe Uira
