Flash 7 slower on linux vs XP

I tested a flash movie clip on a 1GZ computer on Linux and XP. The linux OS (Mozilla) took 28 seconds while the XP (IE) took 18. This is more noticeable on a 500MHZ computer. Is their a performance hit porting Flash to Linux? is this something I have to live with or is their any alternatives for running flash on Linux?

Thank You for any help.

Something you have to live with, Flash on linux generally sucks. Alot. There are a few projects working on building open source Flash players that would then lead to open source and thus more integrated and quicker Flash plugins but they are still a little while off yet.
