Fix this and I owe you my life!
Hi all,
I have been browsing this site for quite some time now and have found it to be very helpful in the past. Well now its time for me to ask for some help, I know this is an issue that has been addressed thousands of times from what I have seen browsing the web. I never seem to have found a straight answer. I am running RedHat 9, Nvidia GF3 Ti500 with the newest drivers installed and working correctly: when I do a glxinfo | grep direct. It replies saying that gl rendering is working. I CANT GET UNREAL TO WORK FOR ANYTHING!!! Here is the exact error when I type ut from the console to start it up. Unreal engine initialized Bound to SDLDrv.so Joystick [0] : Unknown Joystick SDLClient initialized. Bound to Render.so Lighting subsystem initialized Rendering initialized LoadMap: Entry Bound to Fire.so Case-insensitive search: Botpack -> ..\System\BotPack.u Bound to IpDrv.so Game class is 'UTIntro' Level is Level Entry.MyLevel Bringing Level Entry.MyLevel up for play (0)... I have uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times under normal user and root accounts. I always made sure that "OpenGL" was selected for the default rendering device. Has anyone seen this or had any trouble? If you could help me I would be so grateful. My friend is a huge computer geek and Im hosting a Lan party for him in 1 day for his Bachelor Party. I have 25 geeks, 26 including myself coming over and I cant get UT installed!! Help!!! Thanks so much in advance, Casey Oakley |

This is Unreal the original? Didn't even know it supported opengl, heh. While I have always despised this engine for its glide dependency I will try to help you as best I can. You need to manually open the unreal.ini file and edit it. there are a few different things you need to look at, and I gave up onthis engine about 3 years ago after payig for UT and never getting tit to run decent on windows or linux. Loki games used to do some work wit the engine, I realize they are now defunt, but I bet some of thier work is still used if you go to the infograems suport forums, someone there is very likely to know. Also if no one there knows I am more than sure someone at www.tournamnet.com {server ownder is either nathan or rit, I forget who does what there} will know, tell them UTSD3DSUCKS sent you for a not so warm welcome. ;) |
