Firefox: Xlib: no protocol specified
Hello,
A little problem about something I am not familiar with yet. I installed Firefox and all was good. Then I began installing extensions and accidentally installed one called stumbleupon. I tried to uninstall it but it would not auto-uninstall. So I followed the included directions and removed all the related files. At this point when I tried to start firefix I got:
[drew@localhost firefox]$ sh firefox
Xlib: connection to ":0.0" refused by server
Xlib: No protocol specified
(firefox-bin:15908): Gtk-WARNING **: cannot open display:
I did some looking and got as far as understanding that it is about a remote X-session?
So I deleted firefox and put it back in but it is still the same. I can run it from root though so I know it is something in my personal directory but I do not know what, I have grepped my entire directory for anything to do with stumble and eliminated them( now mozilla does not work either. ) So what do I do? And I do not know much about this Xlib, Xauthority thing and what not, why would it do that? Is it normal for browsers to do, because it sounds scary to me.
Thakyou,
Andrew
