firefox weird problem!

Hi,

I used firefox on FC4 for some days and it worked great

I installed it with yum (the package firefox-1.0.6-1.1.fc4)

But now I had been settings some other color scheme for KDE i found on kde-look.org

Now for some reason all text in the menu's of firefox are not visible
I resetted the original color settings but it still stays the same ...

I removed firefox and installed a fresh copy but still no visible text. Firefox runs good but I just can't see any text in the menu's

Does anybody has an idea what is going on?

thx

Try changing the theme if you are using one in firefox. If that fails then remove firefox, and the /home/username/.mozilla/firefox folder and reinstall.

hi

it doesn't work

I tried the version (installer) from mozilla.org and this works.
So there are only problems when i use the FC4 RPM of firefox and thunderbird

I think there is a library that causes problems
Does anybody knows how i can check for a RPM package wich other packages it depends on?

Try running firefox from the shell and see what the output says, may help to hunt down the problem.

hi

i think the skins have nothing to do with the problem. When i set tot normal skin the text is not visible too

Then i tried the start firefox from terminal, which doesnt write anything to the output
Then i tried running with:

$ firefox --g-fatal-warnings

Gdk-WARNING **: gdk_property_get(): length value has wrapped in calculation (did you pass G_MAXLONG?)
aborting...
/usr/lib/firefox-1.0.6/run-mozilla.sh: line 159: 3604 Traceer/breekpunt val "$prog" ${1+"$@"}

Does anybody knows what this means and how i can solve it?

If i install firefox from the installer package (tar.gz) from the mozilla site, it runs fine
But when i use the RPM for FC4 i cant see any text on buttons and menu's. In the past this RPM did run well, but i had installed some new packages (development) which is probable not a good idea. After that the text disappeared. Now I want to find out on which RPM's the firefox RPM depends so I can reinstall the old packages. ISo i'm looking for a RPM command that gives me all the dependencies for the firefox RPM package. f anybody knows the warning above i would be happy to know
I like to use the FC4 RPMs because they run faster then the standard firefox installer

i hope someoby can help me with this
thx
