If me. I'd rename the hidden folder .mozilla in /home to .mozilla.old

http://kb.mozillazine.org/Show_hidde..._folders#Linux
Code:
$ locate .mozilla
/home/harry/.mozilla
Code:
$ ls -a
<snip>
Backups         Desktop           .gtkrc           .mozilla        .thumbnails
<snip>

Making sure Firefox is closed while doing this. Then restart firefox so it makes me a fresh new .mozilla folder.
