Code:
[Ashok@station130 ~]$ firefox www.wikipedia.com
/usr/lib/firefox-1.0/run-mozilla.sh: line 159: 12396 Segmentation fault      "$prog" ${1+"$@"}

I think that problem could be caused by running a very old firefox release.

.. Yes, Firefox-1.0 is five years old,
probably the most insecure, you can use.

*
You still miss out to tell, which Linux, you are using.

The script 'run-mozilla.sh' will not start firefox.
The other script by name 'firefox' will.
( Sometimes it has been moved to /usr/bin/ ,
difficult to tell, when your Linux is unknown.)

Code:
[Ashok@station130 ~]$ uname -a
Linux station130 2.6.9-5.ELsmp #1 SMP Wed Jan 5 19:30:39 EST 2005 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux

OK, kernel-2.6.9-5.ELsmp : Redhat EL 4.0 .
The February 2005 version.

And firefox-1.0.4 : Same age.

Time to renew your Redhat paid account. ?
'up2date' can update Firefox, etc.
I guess, you never updated anything.
1000+ packages to be updated ?

The current firefox for RH EL4 : firefox-3.0.15-3.el4
It has some dependencies → compatibility packages.
At least five of the " evolution28* " packages.
.....

when I run the command up2date its showing some Red Hat Configuration Window with several options. Actually I am new to this. So, can you tell me what are the checkboxes I have to check to make this update process successful?

If it is a recent install, why not get version
EL 4.8 ? And install that instead.

Then you will have the most of the new updates.

Sorry, I have no Redhat subscription.
And as such, I never used up2date.

If you have a Redhat account : May be ask Redhat.

And please verify, that you have the 'paid for' support.
