Question Firefox printing only on part of A4 paper!

Hi,

I use a Canon M610 printer with Suse Linux Desktop 10 SP2.

Originally had some issue with the correct printer driver for this combination, but got that sorted!

My printing on A4 works fine with a test page, evolution, Kate, Open Office documents etc., but not Firefox.
The version of Firefox I'm currently use is 2.0.0.18, which is about the updated to version 3.something.

The printer driver is MP610-Series-Ver.2.80en.
I have reconfigured Firefox to print via Kprinter as suggested by someone else.

So, the issue is, that I can print from Firefox, but it only prints the entire page on two/thirds of the actual paper A4. Specifically down the bottom left hand corner.

Surely, I not the only one that has run into this problem. Hence this post!

Any suggestions are welcome!

Cheers,

Page Setup

Did you try File > Page Setup... in the main menu of Firefox?

Generally about printing from Firefox :

"Print to file" will produce a nice 'file.ps'
which is easy to printout ( with kde print )

I use this method from some sites, to improve
misc. things, using hp printers.

Cool

Thank you both for your suggestions!

Tried both options, but there is no change in the result.

I actually measured the printout on A4 and have come to he conclusion that it actually prints A5 size, rather than A4.

All print and page setup settings indicate that I'm using A4 paper.

Cheers!

Thumbs up Firefox printing sorted.

Hi,

Got it sorted.

Certain settings in Firefox's about:config were ambiguous.

e.g. print.printer_CUPS/MP610-series-Ver.2.80en.print_paper_size was set to 666 which didn't map to the printer naming definition for the specific printer's paper size.

So, it is working now.

Cheers,
Johan
