Firefox on startup

On a IBM T23 Slackware 12.1 when I start the laptop then do startx,
Firefox opens up with KDE on its own.
How do I fix it, so it opens when I want it?

Thanks,
digger

Try going to:
KDE Control Centre > KDE Components > Session Manager

And looking at the options there, I think by default, KDE saves each session when you logout, and when you reboot, restores it again. Here, you can change this behaviour and make it start with an empty session each time, or restore a manually saved session.
