Firefox not opening maximized

Out of the blue, without updates, Firefox 84 has decided to refuse to open maximized.
Have to do it manually - the window is too small to use in any event

Does anyone know where/how to fix this?

(my search came up empty as usual)

Although I have not tried this, edit file /usr/share/applications/firefox.desktop as sudo or root and add --start-maximized to the Exec line, currently at line 96 of my firefox installation. Example below:
Code:
Exec=/usr/lib/firefox-esr/firefox-esr --start-maximized %u

@frankbell - the DE is Cinnamon.
@brains - thanks, so I tried that, but I guess chromium switches don't travel to firefox, then...

Wow. Feel so stupid.
Tried same search, this time got answer and it was something I knew about. doh!

When

is toggled

True
then there's this Tor browser effect.

But I had toggled it off, and just didn't consider that it might have been turned on again, cuz no update.

So how come the same search phrase and engine - DDG - is giving such different results? Am I holding my mouth wrong when I type?
