Firefox massive memory hog!

I've noticed that if i leave firefox up and running for a couple days, the ammount of memory climbs to some very high levels. Ive had it over 2GB in the past.

Ive tried this, didnt make any difference.(set it to 64MB).

This has been happened over almost every release of firefox ive tried, currently i have the newest. Could one of the extensions be causing this? If so, asside from trial and error, is there a way to find out which one? Or if anyone has any ideas on what it is and what i can do about it.

Thanks.

Memory leaks

I think you have noticed something that has been a feature
of Firefox for some time now. They seem to have solved the
problem in the latest Windows release, now we have to wait
until this feeds through to Linux. Shows all the dangers
that programming in C++ can create and does create as an
eveyday event.
