The webhosting company I use, at their cp log in page, is case sensitive. No matter if I use Iceweasel or Firefox it keeps capitalizing my password and I can't log in. The work around is to use another browser of course. But I would like to use Iceweasel (or Firefox) without that happening. Anyone know what I need to do to stop this from happening? It only does it for my webhost. All other places, (emails, forums, etc.) seem to work fine so far.
Thanks for checking. I really don't know what the issue is, probably has something to do with using Firefox/Iceweasel and the actual website I am trying to log into. It is not a big problem since it does not do it with any other browser. I can just use Chrome or Chromium for this until I can figure it out.
It's a very long shot, but you could try starting Firefox from the command line. Attempting to log in might throw something helpful into the terminal window.
Like I said, long shot. If it were a pony, I wouldn't bet it at Santa Anita.
Good idea. Even if it doesn't work it is worth a shot.
Edit: Well I didn't get any errors running it that way. But I know where to look for the problem now. I decided to run Iceweasel from the root terminal. Going to that website to log in with that and it does not capitalize anything. So the only conclusion that I can come up with is that an add-on is causing this problem. I will compare the two, root and normal user, and see if all the settings are the same. First though I am going to disable all add-ons and restart them one at a time.
Thanks for the idea. A long shot that wasn't expected to work, and didn't work, showed me what the real problem probably is.
I am still trying to figure out what addon or setting is doing this. I do know why it is following me, so to speak, from one distro to another. I use Febe to back up some things, passwords, screen names, etc. When my computer comes in I am going to install Fedora 19 but not use Febe. I will manually write down each screen name and password. When I find out more I will post it here.
