Firefox Font Overlapping & Jumbled

1 Attachment(s)
Hello,

On my gentoo box, my Firefox 3.0.10 fonts are (on some sites) a bit jumbled, overlapping mess. Only highlighting the text or putting another window over it so it's redrawn reveals it..Attached is a screenshot....

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Firefox overlap (in Ubuntu 9.04)

I also have the over lap problem, and am unable to decide if it is site specific, or related to my settings. Screen is HPv2207. It's settings are 1680x1050 60Hz (16:10). Help appreciated

Bob

Two more adjustments...

Firefox will let you adjust the size of the fonts that it uses in Edit, Preferences, Content. Your desktop(KDE, Gnome, etc.) will also have a method of changing the fonts use on the system in general.

There is an interplay of the two setting, the desktop fonts and those of Firefox, and the content of any given web page, added to the size of everything set by the screen resolution. I suggest you experiment.

I've got an nVidia MX 440 & am running in 1280x1024 resolution in Xfce.

I've attempted toying with the Firefox settings, but no matter what font or size I choose, nothing seems to help..I may try using a different window manager to see whether the issue persists.

After giving this a shot with Openbox, I'm still receiving the same results.

Any other ideas?

Thanks..I'd rather not have every web page display the same font =\.
