firefox flash player plugin issue
Hi All,
I am having trouble with a machine running fedora 10. I just upgraded the other day the latest flash via yum and now every time I navigate to someplace such as youtube firefox is telling me that mp3 and flash plugins are needed. I have reset firefox to defaults by moving the .default file and reopening, reinstalled firefox and flash-player-plugin, I have looked in /var/log/messages and found nothing. Any help in looking someplace to find out just what the heck is going wrong with this install? also, it is for all users on the machine. |
What does it say if you open Firefox and type
Code:
about:plugins |
sorry I guess I should have posted this earlier.
I linked the two flash plugins (swf and flash) to the plugins folder in the user directories, /home/[user]/.mozilla/plugins. and it now works again. the bottom of any player said to upgrade to the latest flash player(which had already been done) and every place else it had said that flash 10 was installed and supported. is there a better fix than what I have done? if not hope this helps somebody else in my shoes |
This may depend on your distribution. Some distros have a different spot. From my knowledge, it should be /usr/share/firefox or something like that.
