Firefox error :(

I just install firefox via apt
and it spit out this error

rob@Oneniisama:~> firefox

(Gecko:16350): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: file gobject.c: line 1579 (g_object_unref): assertion `G_IS_OBJECT (object)' failed
/usr/bin/firefox: line 259: 16350 Segmentation fault $MOZ_PROGRAM $MOZ_LANG
rob@Oneniisama:~>

it used to be installed via the unzipping but i wanted plugins and such so i deleted the folder and then install via the apt-get install MozillaFirefox

(using apt4rpm)

How do i fix this?

Two things:

After deleting the unzipped directory, did you delete ~/.mozilla?
If you did not, try deleting it (when firefox is closed) and then reopening it

When you reopen it, launch it from a terminal window, this will output error messages there for you to get a better idea of the issue.

IF you still get the same error, try reinstalling firefox (after deleting ~/.mozilla), after looking on google it appears that it might be related to an old ~/.mozilla.

Hmm its working now without any messages spat out. My problem seems to have been caused by baghira, an osx bar for linux. (it sits over the kde kicker, rather than under as most apps do), somehow it was causing those errors for firefox and thunderbird.
Ditched and uninstalled the problem and now both firefox and thunderbird work
