FireFox doesnt play Twitch (error 6000)

Hey,

Its probably something stupid but i have a lot of problems when it comes to playing Twitch streams in FireFox. Ive had this problem before but i cant remember what i did to fix it. Its probably something with h264/mp4 codec in firefox.

In windows i have no problems but when i go to my Fedora install (fully updated) it starts acting up. I tried installing ffmpeg for codecs but so far its not helping. Anyone any ideas?

Thanks,
Sander

Can you provide the exact wording of the error message or at least specify which error 6000 it is? A web search for "error 6000" turned up everything from Quickbook errors to Canon printer errors.

All that twitch says is this: The Twitch Machine got unplugged. Try again in a moment (error code #6000)

After some googling it comes down to eighter flash/shockwave in FireFox that isnt running/playing the stream or something about flahs. In most posts thy want you to install some weird plugin into firefox (witch doesnt run on fedora just windows and mac) or install a flash player of some description on the system itself.

Things i tried:

https://discuss.dev.twitch.tv/t/twit...x-ubuntu/15634 (the 3th post, that was already installed on the system.)

https://www.reddit.com/r/Twitch/comm...ailable_error/ (here thy talk about flash player, i went to the adobe flash player website and downloaded a RPM but that said: nothing to do, everything is up to date)

most other posts i fiend come down to the same things as discussed in above topics.

i looked at the two threads, and i don't see how this relates to anything written there.
plese be more precise in your troubleshooting & show us all commands issued & output received.

all in all it seems like a different firefox verison might fix the issue.

i take it other video playback just works on firefox?

are you using ubuntu?
plese show us the output of
Code:
apt update
apt -s upgrade

As i said in the first post, im using Fedora. Its fully updated.

What do you mean its not related to this post? there describing the exact same problem im having, just diferent OS (ubuntu or centos instead of Fedora)

Other video like youtube works just fine. I havent tried every video on youtube but the like 10 i tried just seem to work fine.

I'm using firefox 63.0.1 on windows and i have no problems there, on fedora im using the same and its having issues. Although on windows i have the plugin "shockwave flash 31.0 R0" installed. Witch probably is what i need but i cant fiend it on Fedora.

EDIT:
Forcefully reinstalling the adobe flashplayer seemes to have fixed it. apparently something went wrong with the previous install.

Does twitch require flash? From the answers I found googling this it seemed that a codec install would work also?
If I can, later, i'll check my new install, which I believe to be Adobeless, and post.
