firefox doesn't play embedded videos in html files
Hi guys i am using Fedora 9 with Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.0.1) Gecko/2008071615 Fedora/3.0.1-1.fc9 Firefox/3.0.1
The problem is that it is not able to play videos embedded in html files. The video is proper but there is no sound. So Please help me |
I'm not sure what you mean by "videos embedded in html files". The html would typically include a link to the video clip.
Is sound working on the computer for other things? If not, it might be as simple as adding user(s) to the "audio" group. If sound IS working, then tell us some specific examples of what works and what does not. |
yes sound is working for everything else such as mp3s, avi and all other media formats
|
no sound
If you are using Firefox, then what kind of player is configured to work with it?
Please try this addon: htps://addons.mozilla.org/pl/firefox/addon/446 I had the same problem with MPlayer on 64bit system. It was this error: "Cannot find codec for audio format 0x162." What I will do, I will try to open the stream via Mplayer in command console and see if it works. If not, then you should see error message. After you check URL of the movie type in console this: mplayer <your-link-to-the-video> Could you please send us a page with this embedded vidio? regards Rafal |
