Firefox does not open tabs

I have set the option to open the links from other applications in new tabs. But the same does not happen. I am using Suse 9,3 with Firefox 1.0.6 shipped with it. Is this a bug?

But firefox 1.0.6 that I had downloaded and am currently using in FC2 works fine in this matter.

What could be the problem?

Look for browser.tabs.opentabfor.windowopen in about:config and set to true. Does that fix it?

Well I changed that to true and still nothing happens.

But now, clicking both the mouse buttons together does not open a new tab. A new problem!!!
